Real estate is no doubt one of the most lucrative businesses in modern times. It is also a great investment idea for anyone looking to put his money into another business apart from stocks. This is an industry that has captured the hearts and finances of several entrepreneurs and business moguls all over the world.
Among series of these entrepreneurs is an experienced executive and serial Entrepreneur, Ryan Hoggan, who has been in the business world for almost two decades. Involved in digital marketing, entrepreneurship, startups, and brand building, Ryan Hoggan has taken a step further into e-commerce and venture capital. Now, he is venturing fully into the real estate industry.
We were privileged to have a brief chat with this prominent entrepreneur, and he took his time to enlighten us on why he has chosen to travel the lane of the real estate world.
What has been your inspiration in your career?
Well, most of the times, my passion is my driving force. I’ve always been passionate about entrepreneurship, startups and brand building. I love to take my chances. As you all know the early years of my career started in the health sectors, but consistency and passion for development helped me diversify into various industries, establishing a wilder ground for my career.
You’ve been in the Real estate business for a while, but mainly focusing on raw lands. What makes you want to fully dive into the real estate industry as it really is? Does this mean you’ll be involved with properties too?
As an entrepreneur, I am no stranger to finding and exploring new business opportunities and investment ideas. I am also a huge fan of industries that involve growth and excitement, and the real estate industry is one of the places I find the two together. I plan on broadening my career horizon in that space.
On your second question, my answer would be “Yes”. I have done my research and weighed the risks. I have also had my fair share in selling raw lands, and I’m prepared to move to the next phase of real estate.
How would you describe the real estate industry?
Real estate as a thriving business has been in existence for decades. It is a flexible business that changes according to the changes taking place in the society. And, with the emergence of modern technology, there will always be a new development every day.
Where do you see real estate in the nearest future?
Looking back at about five to ten years ago, where real estate was back then is not where it is now and it’s still in its phase of development. Like I said, it’s a growing industry, and things would definitely be different by then. Mortgage rates would be drastically high compared to now.
What advice would you give to entrepreneurs who are venturing or plan to venture into real estate?
There is no special advice to give in relation to real estate other than the general advice given in relation to every other business out there.
The first thing I’ll say is what I expect every entrepreneur to have kept at the back of his mind. Be prepared, know the industry you are going into and do all the necessary research required of you.
Secondly, draft a business plan. This is very important for every businessperson. You can’t possibly go into a business without having a plan on how you want it to go. Alongside your business plan should be your financial plan.
Finally, like I’ve always mentioned in my personal blog where I share great investment ideas, you must exercise patience and trust the process. Patience is a major key in growth. Also, very important, don’t be afraid to think outside the box.
