One of the best projects you’ll ever take on in your home is a bedroom renovation! They are so much fun if you let your imagination run wild. With that being said, it is still useful to have a plan and a vision in place for the result and how you’re intending on getting there. You’ll be happy to hear that you can also be an interior designer for one month and put your amazing decorating and interior skills to the test. Keep reading to find out some top tips to consider to help you renovate your bedroom.
Make an interior plan
Believe us when we say that you’ll very much regret not planning your interior project before you begin. Interior design can be very fun and exciting but getting to the middle of the project and realising you don’t like your chosen colour scheme can be mentally draining. Therefore, this is why we recommend that you make a plan detailing how you intend on getting to your end result. Renovating a bedroom is super fun because you get to decide what the outcome will be. Yet again, this can make it more difficult in the long run if you have loads of ideas floating about your head. When creating your plan, keep a diary of your ideas and even check out some interior mood boards on Pinterest and Instagram – we love some interior inspo!
Declutter
Secondly, you’ll want to entirely declutter the bedroom you’re choosing to renovate. Renovations are supposed to let you get rid of the old and help in with the new which is why it might be a good idea to get rid of all your old junk. Staying sentimental is not a good way to go when it comes to renovations. Ideally, you need to ensure you’re either binning or donating a lot of the stuff that doesn’t serve a purpose anymore. Make some time in your plan for decluttering!
Choose a colour scheme
Our third tip is to choose a lovely colour scheme. Whatever colour scheme you go for will wholly depend on what theme you’ve chosen for your bedroom. For example, if you have opted for a farmhouse or rustic theme, you’ll probably choose some lovely pastels and a mixture of woods. However, you don’t need to stick to a strict theme if you don’t want to – your rooms your oyster when it comes to interior design!
Invest in luxury décor
Finally, and maybe the most exciting part of a renovation is investing in some luxury décor. We spend so much time in our bedrooms that it is one of the main places to place some stunning decorative pieces. Cushions, luxury lighting, rugs and wallpapers from high-quality brands such as Penny Morrison will do wonders for sprucing up your bedroom and bringing your renovation to life! We know you deserve it.
You’ll be an interior expert by the end of the reno!
